Grown for its foliage as much as its flowers, Ajuga reptans ‘Catlin’s Giant’ is a semi-evergreen perennial, slowly spreading to form a carpet of glossy, purple-green leaves. From late spring through to mid summer, masses of upright spikes of blue-purple flowers appear, which are highly attractive to bees. This popular Bugle selection has larger leaves and flowers than the original species and has been awarded a prestigious RHS AGM. Preferring partial shade, Ajuga plants are perfect as ground cover in woodland gardens and shady borders and are extremely low maintenance! Height: 50cm (20″). Spread up to 1m (39″).

Grow Ajuga in any well drained, but reliably moist soil, in dappled or semi shade. Ajuga tolerates even the poorest soils provided that there is adequate moisture.
Water regularly until Ajuga plants are fully established. Lift and divide overcrowded clumps of Bugle in Spring to maintain plant vigour.
