Position Aspidistra in a warm room, with an average temperature of 15-24C (60-75F). Aspidistras can tolerate much cooler conditions if necessary, down to a minimum of 8C (45F). A brightly lit room is ideal, well away from the glare of full sun. However Aspidistra will happily tolerate much lower light conditions.
Water regularly to maintain evenly moist compost, allowing the surface of the soil to dry ourt slightly between waterings. Avoid leaving Aspidistra in standing water as this may cause it to rot. In winter, reduce watering but do not allow the compost to dry out completely. House plants should be fed regularly between March and September when they are in active growth.
